Agnese Armchair

Agnese is one of Gianfranco Frattini’s most famous armchairs ‒ model 849 from 1956 ‒ an iconic timeless piece of Italian design, with an elegant and recognisable aesthetic, awarded an honourable mention at the III Compasso d’Oro.

The innovation of Agnese remains exemplary to this day: the padded seat and backrest are supported solely by the ash wood frame. The combination of different materials, the contrast between the geometry of the base and the softness of the cushioned part, and the remarkably simple yet unique construction details represent the unmistakable signature of a Master of Design History. The armchair can be accompanied by a coordinated upholstered ottoman.
